Industrial property

The name Centre d’Innovació del Transport, as well as other distinctive signs (whether image or text) that appear on this website, are the exclusive property of CENIT and are registered as such. In accordance with Art. 34 of Law 34 of Law 17/2001, of 17 December, on trademarks, and any other national legislation that may be applicable, this ownership implies the exclusive right to use these distinctive signs in the course of trade. Unauthorised use of these signs by third parties is therefore not permitted.

Any use on this website of distinctive signs subject to a different ownership to that indicated in the preceding paragraph must be authorised by their legitimate owners, and any exclusivity rights must be respected.

Domain names

As outlined in the preceding section, the domain names “.cenit.cat”, “.cenit.es” and any that are used to access this official website directly are the exclusive property of CENIT . Unauthorised use of these domain names in the course of trade is an infringement of the rights conferred by their registration and will be prosecuted by the means provided by law.

Intellectual property

Content, text, photographs, designs, logos, images, sounds, videos, animations, recordings, computer software, source code and, in general, any intellectual creation on this official website, as well as the website as a multimedia artwork, are protected by intellectual property laws.

Freeware that is not owned by CENIT that users can download from various web pages belonging to this site is exempt from this protection. Furthermore, this freeware is in the public domain in accordance with the authors’ wishes.

The user is expressly authorised by CENIT to view, print, copy and store, in any form, on a hard drive or other physical drive, the protected intellectual creations and any other content or asset, whether or not subject to exclusivity rights, on this website, provided that these actions are taken for personal, private or non-commercial purposes, and without the intention to distribute any of the material or to modify, alter or decompile said rights and content. 5. PRIVACY

Proxy cache server

CENIT informs users that it may have implemented a service known as proxy cache server, the aim of which is the intermediate storage of web pages and ftp files to improve network performance and to check that they pose no threat to the corporate network. Log files for this service, which contain only the URLs requested by IP addresses, are deleted regularly in accordance with computer security regulations. The CENIT shall not hand over the information contained therein except in the case that it is legally required to do so.

Monitoring and logging

CENIT informs users that it has monitoring systems in place that register users’ IP addresses and their activities on the CENIT network. The aim of these monitoring systems is to manage services, provide statistics and ensure the security of information systems. In high-risk situations they identify the affected computers and allow them to be isolated from the network until normal functioning is resumed.

Social networks

When a user decides to follow the Centre d’Innovació del Transport on the social networks Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., or when they share our content on these networks, they accept not only the privacy policies of our university in this area but also those of the social network service provider, including those relating to the processing of personal data under the laws and jurisdiction of the provider’s country.

 

6. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

CENIT hereby informs users of this website that it may create an automated file of the personal details provided as a result of using this website, in strict accordance with data protection law.

Users must guarantee the veracity and authenticity of the information and personal details that they provide while using the website. Users must keep their information and personal details up to date at all times. Any false or inaccurate statement made as a result of the information and personal details given, and any liability that results therein, are the responsibility of the users.

In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/99, of 13 December, on personal data protection, users are hereby informed that personal data are collected and filed in a database, for which the rector of CENIT is responsible.

Users may at any time exercise the right to access, rectify, cancel or object to the personal details collected and stored by CENIT by writing to the person in charge of personal data security at CENIT . Exercising this right will not affect your access to the web page and any associated membership conditions.

The data stored may be used to feed statistics and market research, provide users with scientific and academic information and deal with any computer problems that might arise, in addition to the specific purposes for which they may have been collected.

If necessary, personal information provided by users can be communicated to a third party for the purposes outlined above, in accordance with the provisions of articles 11 and 21 of Organic Law 15/1999 on personal data protection, for which the interest party’s consent must be sought.

By providing CENIT with personal information, users accept, fully and without reservations, the processing of this information by CENIT.

CENIT shall meet its obligation to protect the secrecy of the personal information it processes, and hereby expresses its intention to take technical and organisational measures to guarantee the security of this information and prevent it from being altered, lost, processed or accessed without authorisation, considering the state of the technology involved, the nature of the information stored and the risks to which it is exposed, whether as a result of human action or the physical or natural medium.

 

7. TERMINATION OF SERVICES

Although the duration of this website is, in principle, indefinite, CENIT reserves the right to suspend or finalise the provision of some or all of its services without being obliged to inform users.

 

8. APPLICABLE LAWS AND JURISDICTION

These terms of use and privacy policy are governed by Spanish law.

Any dispute relating to the CENIT website must be tried by the Spanish jurisdiction and the parties must submit to the courts and tribunals of Barcelona and to their superiors, expressly waiving their right to any other jurisdiction.
