Sara Ahetze Puignau Arrigain has an MSc in Civil Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC-BarcelonaTech), specialized in Transport Engineering and Computational Engineering. She is doing a PhD at the Civil Engineering program and her thesis is focused on integrated transport systems combining reliable public transport and new shared mobility services.
Previously, she did an internship at the Transport and Mobility Directorate of Generalitat de Catalunya, at Coordination and Management of Road Transport, where she collaborated in the elaboration of the Plan to improve public transport in Pallars Sobirà.
She joined CENIT in 2014, with a University-Business Cooperation, to work on the “Definition of the evaluation system for transport infrastructures inversions” (SAIT). Afterwards, she participated in different projects related to demand analysis and travel behaviour understanding as a researcher. Nowadays, she is part of the ITS group, collaborating on projects dealing with transport modelling, mainly with traffic simulation models. Her work focuses on the optimization of traffic lights and the simulation of new shared mobility services.
