Centre for Transport Innovation CENIT (Centre for Innovation in Transport) is a research centre created in 2001 as a consortium between the Generalitat de Catalunya (Autonomous Government of Catalonia) & the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). Its aim is to generate knowledge about transport and make it available throughout society. Its activities embrace every transport field: railway and high-speed trains, air and maritime transport, intermodal transport, traffic & road safety, public transport systems, logistics & intelligent transport systems. CENIT has carried out a large number of research, development and technological transfer projects in various areas of transport economy and engineering, always trying to focus this research on the demands of social agents for specific areas and lines. In addition to its research activities, CENIT organizes different courses & seminars addressed to professionals of this field in order to update their specific technical knowledge and to provide them with the latest news in each of the discussed areas. CENIT also publishes a variety of studies within the collection "Temes de Transport i Territori" (Transport and Territory Topics) in Edicions UPC. |
