Resum:
The experience gained in the ten years since the beginning of the commercial operation of the new high-speed line Madrid-Sevilla confirmed the important track deterioration on local vertical stiffness variations such as embankment-bridge transitions.
Therefore the aim of this paper is:
- a) to analyse the complexities of transition bridge-embankments, and
- b) to propose a design criteria based on the influence of railpads vertical stiffness, which limits the negative effect caused by the mentioned transition from the perspective of the geometric quality of high-speed lines.
