Marta Sánchez Borràs – Project Manager of CENIT

Dr.-Eng. Marta Sánchez-Borràs holds a PhD with a European Mention from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the UPC, a master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA de Lyon, France), and the Euforia’s Certification, awarded to engineers with a solid education in science and economics, fluent in three foreign languages and having carried out academic and/or professional stays in three different countries. She joined CENIT in February 2005, after having been working as a trainee engineer in different companies within the transport and urban planning sectors (FGC, 22@bcn, CLABSA, STAEDLER-Nuremberg). In 2008 she attended the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) of the University of Leeds, under the supervision of Prof. Chris Nash, within the framework of her PhD Thesis on the impact of rail infrastructure charging systems implemented in Europe on the competitiveness of high speed services, published by EurailPress, from the DVV Media Group. Since September 2009 she is assistant lecturer at the Department of Transport Infrastructure and Territory of the School of Civil Engineering of Barcelona (UPC) and lecturer of several professional and official master’s degrees organized by UPC.

Her research lines include:

  • Railway transport and high speed railways.
  • Railway infrastructure pricing.
  • Mobility planning & management.
